Borrower Sarah and her partner joined BorrowMyDoggy and matched with two incredibly cute Poodles, Meesha & Bella. They now take care of the two pooches regularly, and are even friends with Messha and Bella’s owners, too - high paws! Here’s their wagulous story.
Why did you sign up to BorrowMyDoggy?
My partner and I both love dogs, but we work full time so it’s impossible to have one of our own as it wouldn’t be fair. We always pet other peoples dogs when we go for walks and everyone who knows us knows we love dogs. It was a friend of ours who mentioned BorrowMyDoggy and said we really needed to sign up. I am so glad we did and I am very grateful to him.
High paws! Tell us about your BorrowMyDoggy experience...
Once we’d signed up and made a profile, we went about browsing the dogs in our area. Initially we added about five dogs within a five mile radius to our favourites.
We contacted the owner of two local Standard Poodles, Meesha and Bella, and within a week we had a reply asking to meet with us. We were so excited. My partner and I both had preconceptions about Poodles, but my goodness we are totally in love with them! Before BorrowMyDoggy we would have never chosen to get a Poodle, but we have totally fallen for them. They are so well-trained, obedient, affectionate and have brilliant characters. We’ve even said that when we are the position to get our own dog, we will look into getting a Poodle. They’re absolutely fantastic and local celebrities, too. When we walk them in the park, everyone always stops to comment on how beautiful they are, my partner and I feel like we are with royalty! It’s funny how the tables have turned, it used to be us stopping people with dogs in parks and now people stop us to talk to Meesha and Bella!
How are you getting on with your new furry pals?
Really well, we are part of the pack! We just couldn’t ask for better, they’re ideal dogs. We have totally bonded with them, it’s absolutely brilliant. My partner is allergic to some dogs, which is one of the major reasons we made contact with Meesha and Bella's owners as they are hypoallergenic. Walking the girls is made even more fantastic by the fact that my partner is not sniffling and sneezing around them. Result!
We’ve been walking Meesha and Bella for about 3 months now, once a week in the evenings. Their owners are incredibly warm and friendly. They invite us in for cups of tea and we have a chat. It’s just really lovely.
