"I joined borrowmydoggy last November after hearing about it on First Dates television programme. Which is pretty ironic when you get to the end of the story, but I don’t want to give too much away.
Anyway, I’ve grown up with dogs and adore them but sadly living in rented accommodation and working full time gave me no option to get one for my own. I’ve always found animals to be paramount to family life and great for your health too! Within a month of signing up I had contacted Paul about his beautiful dog Tiggy and they were only a two minute walk from me- perfect!!
When I first met Tiggy, it couldn’t have gone any better. She is a lovely dog with heaps of personality and a pleasure to walk too. As the walks became more frequent I saw Paul more and got to know him as a lender and he really highlighted the ethos behind BorrowMyDoggy- putting the dogs first.
My love for Tiggy grew quickly and my health and mentality soared, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t done this sooner!! Both Paul and I and Tiggy too I suppose were extremely happy with the outcome and wanted this to definitely be a permanent thing.
But something slightly changed though a few weeks into knowing and walking Tiggy. My usual routine was going straight from a long day of work, walking home and nipping into Paul’s on the way back to walk Tiggy-it was lovely. Due to the timing of the walks (around 6pm) I would often catch Paul cooking tea and it wasn’t long before I was invited for tea too. Of course I couldn’t say no after working all day and being starving haha! It started with ribs for the main and apple pie for pudding and the rest is history. Not long after I started eating tea with Paul it started to become more frequent. We soon realised there was something about the other we couldn’t just let slip away (we learnt we had so much in common) and we decided to become more than just friends.
On February 14th we became official and we haven’t looked back since and are soon coming up to our one year anniversary!! Thanks BorrowMyDoggy from the bottom of my heart"
